Chocolate milk helps to restore strength and muscle after physical exercise is much better than the special carbohydrate sports drinks, discovered by American specialists. Experts agree that after reinforced sports need to give the body a two-hour rest, to stay in good shape for the next workout.

Scientists company Weber Shandwick presented at the conference of the American College of sports medicine evidence that low-fat chocolate milk helps the body to maintain, enhance and restore the muscles.

Biopsy of the muscles after physical exercises for the male runners showed that after consuming about 30 grams of chocolate milk athletes have increased protein synthesis of skeletal muscles – a sign that muscles were better recover after exercise. In addition, chocolate milk literally adds fuel to the muscles, increasing the concentration of glycogen in the muscles within 30-60 minutes after exercise. Also the milk chocolate with low fat prevents muscle rupture as a result of intensive training.

The combination of milk chocolate carbs and high quality protein makes this drink is especially beneficial for athletes, physiologists say. Milk also helps to restore lost fluid and electrolytes after physical activity, including potasium, calcium and magnesium, which are lost in sweat. Chocolate milk is enriched with important nutrients that are lacking in most sports specialists, the researchers add.
